"Polymer electronic materials"

The goal of our research group covers the study of polymer materials and process engineering for optoelectronic application like OLED/ QLED displays, organic photovoltaics and stretchable electrodes. In addition, we are interested in the electrical sensor devices based on polymers, which can measure the exact concentration of bio-molecules. For the practical approach, we are investigating the device integration from basic material design to the working system.

1. Materials for the Optoelectronic devices

- Color conversion materials for Displays

We are interested in the next generation QD display. In QD-OLED, QNED, and micro-displays, the color conversion layer becomes the key component. We want to develop the polymer-quantum dot or the polymer-perovskite composite materials which can be used for the color conversion layer for displays over 120% color gamut value.

- Polymer based Transparent electrodes for Optoelectronic devices

For the highly flexible devices, the polymer based transparent electroces can be the promising building block. We study the material combination of the conducting polymer and the conductive nanowire for the enhanced electrical conductivity. And we are interested in the novel cost-effective patterning process of conducting materials for practical applications, including polymer optoelectronic devices and the micro-scale lithography.

2. Materials for the Biosensor devices

- Polymer materials for the Biosensors based on an Electrochemical transistor

Because polymer materials have the good compatibility with the biological compounds, polymers have widely utilized in the biosensor applications. Especially, we study the highly sensitive bio-sensors using polymer based electrochemical transistors, which can perform the real-time measurement of the exact concentration of the biological compound.

- Biodegradable Electronic composite materials

Lots of attention have been paid to the eco-friendly new class of materials. Among them, we are interested in the biodegradable polymer-conductive nanowire composite materials which can be applied into the electronic devices. The excellent combination between conductive nanowire and the nature-derived polymer materials can give the great advances to the bio-electronic devices.
